Hello our dear Knotty Friends
Happy new year! Can it be 2025 already?
We had a wonderful break to recharge our batteries and for once we decided to take our time travelling in the Jeep with our dogs down to the coast. We travelled over some new mountain passes and some we have not done for a while. Driving the Swartberg Pass in the early morning watching the sunrise was stunning. On the way to Port Elizabeth we did part of the Prins Alfred Pass and stopped for a light lunch deep in the mountains at a “The Padstal”. As we did many of the passes built by Thomas Bains it was only fitting that we stopped at a memorial built for him.
We had the pleasure of meeting up with many friends and family on the trip and it was so good to connect with those we have not seen for a while. What was very nice was meeting up with Knotty Friends and a very big thank you to those who made time and effort to meet up with us. We apologise to all we could not meet up with as time was an issue.
Time marches on and we have two Birthdays this month. Christiaan, our oldest son turned 34 this month. We wish him and the family well especially our granddaughter, Harper, who believe it or not understands Afrikaans pretty well. It was good to see them last year in the USA.
Hard to believe but at the end of January, Knotty Habit will be six years old. What a ride it has been and thank you for all your support during these years. The best part has been to see how the Knotty Friends we have, have grown as people and numbers.
A Big Thank You to all who supported and participated in the first 24 Stripe Advent. As it was a test run we will have more available this coming year so watch this space. Could all who used the 24 Stripe Advent yarn and completed their project please email us photo’s of your work as we would like to make a collage of all the projects.
We have lots of plans and exciting stuff planned for Knotty Habit this year and we are so excited to share it with you in days and months to come
For now we will keep this newsletter short and sweet as we know you have big plans for your crafting in this new year. Do you have any resolutions? Maybe a big project you want to embark on, organising your stash and starting a scrappy project or joining a k(c)al?
