Dear Knotty Friends,
Resilience is the word I think you would agree with me is perfect for 2021. For me resilience means hope, faith and possibilities. Dr Ginsburg, child paediatrician and human development expert, proposes that there are 7 integral and interrelated components that make up being resilient – competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping and control. In 2021 all of these “c-words” were true for a lot of us and especially when we look back at Knotty Habit over the last year!
Thank you for each and every connection and friendship, your contribution through advice and support motivated us to serve you through our love for yarn and colour. Every order you placed and every request for a custom dye gave me confidence and helped to build my competencies to try new techniques and dyeing methods. We have learned that we have no control over some situations and definitely no control over what is happening in our world. We have developed coping mechanisms even though we don’t know which we would need next, but in the meantime, we build character.
Thank you for all the support for the 2021 Knotty Habit Klub and for allowing us to do it again for 2022. We are so excited to start playing with colours in early January.
May you all find time to relax and re-evaluate. Enjoy the holiday season and have hope and faith that 2022 will hold new possibilities and moments of joy!
Merry Christmas and a blessed 2022 from all of us at Knotty Habit.
Last but not least I want to say thank you to the Knotty Krowd for all the support and advice who all in their own unique way made significant contributions, to Anel from BlueSpoons and Gertruida from Ietsie Klein for the personal and professional support that helped make the Knotty Klub 2021 a big success. In closing a big thank you to Louis and my kids for the unrelenting support and always being there for me.
Knotty Love
Miensie
